<p>I&#39;m trying to look into going on a certain diet that I&#39;ve heard quite a lot about&#8230; it&#39;s a purely liquid diet, there&#39;s a monthly cost of somewhere around &#163;200 and you only have their shakes that they supply. Very dramatic effects etc&#8230; I&#39;ve been to the site<span id="more-45"></span> before but for the life of me I can&#39;t remember the name of the programme (which includes support groups/meeting/counselling etc).</p>
<p>Any help? If you use or have used this programme how did you get on? </p>

If you are one of the many millions of people who struggle to maintain the proper weight, you are probably aware of the generally accepted groundrules of weight management.</p>
<p>The rules say that you need just two things to keep to the correct weight: proper diet and exercise.  These two factors are expounded in books and programs worldwide that are the center of a billion-dollar<span id="more-41"></span> business.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, that business is failing, at least in having an effect, if not in making money for its principals.  The proportion of the population who are overweight, and in fact obese, is growing at an alarming rate.</p>
<p>And it&#8217;s not just the United States, by the way.  Obesity worldwide is such a concern that the World Health Organization has coined a new word &#8220;Globesity&#8221; to describe what they see as a global problem.</p>
<p>For many of us, &#8220;proper diet and exercise&#8221; is not a simple or an easy answer &#8211; instead, it represents a total and challenging lifestyle change.  Resistance to the required change in personal eating and exercise habits and practices is what dooms many individual attempts to lose weight.</p>
<p>In other words, proper diet and exercise are only half of what is required to maintain a healthy weight &#8211; the physical half.  It&#8217;s the other half: the mental and emotional challenges, resistance to change, and difficulty in breaking habits and routines, which keep us overweight.</p>
<p>And, seeing that &#8220;proper diet and exercise&#8221; is fairly simple in concept, and it&#8217;s the emotional and habit issues that are the sticking point, it&#8217;s therefore those latter issues that we should be focussing on.  This is where hypnosis can help.</p>
<p>Let me comment, by the way, that all this is the reason why programs like Jenny Craig, Weightwatchers, and even Overeaters Anonymous are so effective.  Using meetings and counselors to allow you to interact with others, they address your emotional needs as much as the physical aspects of diet.  However, the use of hypnosis can be a lot cheaper, faster, and easier.</p>
<p>For example, most of us have become accustomed (conditioned) to eating particular types and amounts of food on a particular schedule.  It&#8217;s not easy to eat less, or differently.  Our tummies are used to feeling full, our brains are conditioned to eat at particular times, and we are used to particular foods, often those which are &#8220;not good&#8221; for us.</p>
<p>Exercise is also not that easy to insert into one&#8217;s daily routine.  It seems straightforward but humans are strongly resistant to it.  Plus, in today&#8217;s society, who has the time?</p>
<p>This is where hypnotic techniques can help. Hypnotherapy is about habit reconditioning and behavior modification.  A course of hypnotherapy can help you modify your existing behaviors and habit patterns (in other words, the mental and emotional challenges) so that you more easily adjust to the new lifestyle required to achieve the two physical cornerstones of weight management &#8211; diet and exercise.</p>

<p>First, hypnosis can teach you relaxation.  Many of the triggers that cause people to overeat are caused by stress-related factors.  The kind of relaxation learned during hypnosis techniques can greatly reduce stress, making the adjustment to new habits much easier.</p>
<p>Next, a good hypnotherapist will work with you to identify triggers.  These are that are sabotaging good diet and exercise habits. </p>
<p>You may be one of those people who find yourself standing looking inside the fridge, just looking for something to eat.  Your hypnotherapist will help you change those behaviors so that you only snack at fixed times, and then you only eat something good for you, such as a protein snack to prevent hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar.</p>
<p>We describe certain foods as comfort foods &#8211; food which is tasty to eat and filling, and generally bad for you.  For some people, their entire diet is comfort food.  Maybe their parents fed them comfort food at a young age when they were upset. </p>
<p>Whatever the reason, those bad eating habits are now engrained. Your hypnotherapist can give you suggestions to change your automatic responses when you have an upset or a &#8220;stress moment&#8221;.</p>
<p>In fact, hypnosis can help alleviate the pangs or cravings that we tend to feel even when we are not hungry, and do not need nourishment.  Often we eat because we are just used to eating at a certain time, or because our tummies are used to feeling full.</p>
<p>The problem with this is that over the years, we need to eat more and more to maintain that &#8220;full&#8221; feeling.  Hypnosis can reverse this behavior to allow you to let go of the hunger pangs at all the wrong times.</p>
<p>Your hypnotherapist can also help you to change your mental patterns so that you feel better about yourself.  Self-image is a big issue when it comes to weight and dieting issues.</p>
<p>Dieting is not difficult, as it happens.  There is a huge variety of different options, including for those who want bigger portions, those who like particular foods, and so forth.  It&#8217;s making the adjustment to stick to a plan that makes the difference, and that&#8217;s the key to success.</p>
<p>So, what&#8217;s the game plan?  First, when entering into any form of diet, exercise, or other lifestyle change, it&#8217;s always a good idea to visit your doctor and get his advice on what to do and the limits. <p>Fat Loss 4 Idiots claims you can lose 9 pounds in 11 days.&#160;That is a<span id="more-40"></span> big claim; is this possible? As I did, you probably have your doubts, however, with the&#160;this diet and exercise program,&#160;it is possible.&#160; It does require though, the right program and applying the strategies outlined.&#160; To assist, Fat Loss 4 Idiots comes complete with an extensive handbook that teaches you how to eat and how not to eat, which is an obvious part of any weight loss plan.</p>
<p>What to expect from this diet</p>
<p>* Lose 9 pounds every 11 days until you reach your final goal!<br />

* Easy to follow meal plan menus. No confusing guess work involved!<br />

<p>Eating Right</p>
<p>A good diet is essential and part of the&#160;Fat Loss 4 Idiots program is&#160;a meal plan (weight loss plan).&#160; The meal plans is made up of lean proteins, fruits, vegetables and sources of good fat which&#160;come from whole foods, such as eggs or cottage cheese.&#160; To help round out your diet, starchy carbohydrates such as oats and pasta are included. The meal plan is divided into&#160;four daily meals that should be eaten at a maximum of 2 1/2 hours apart. Unlike oodles of other diets, calorie or carb counting is not part of Fat Loss 4 Idiots and there is no limit on portion size; Fat Loss 4 Idiots says you &#8220;just eat short of being full&#8221;.</p>
<p>After following the meal plan for 11 days, there is a 3-day &#8216;cheat&#8217; cycle.&#160; During this time, you can eat whatever you want, then the 11-day meal plan cycle begins again.&#160; The idea is to not allow your body to get comfortable and therefore, will not feel like it is starving during the 11-day session.&#160; This process has been widely advocated.&#160; rather than simply sending you to the grocery store empty handed, the meal plan is created by selecting from a list of preferred foods.</p>
<p>Exercise Program</p>
<p>Now, this is not going to be like &#8216;The Biggest Loser&#8217;, where you spend hours a day on a treadmill and&#160;though Fat Loss 4 Idiots was developed for mainly sedentary people, they do recommend exercise.&#160; Though they do lay out a low-intense exercise program.&#160; Exercise is important for the success of any weight loss program.&#160; If you are interested in something more regarding exercise routine. <p>Fat Loss 4 Idiots is a one thing only, an inexpensive&#160;weight loss program, designed solely for helping people lose weight.&#160; Don&#8217;t take the statement as one of the program being weak; Fat Loss 4 Idiots provides you access to an on-line diet generator, diet workbook and a nutritional guide.&#160; This weight loss program recommends common-sense weight loss principles, such as brisk walking, plenty of water, etc., and contains only whole food diets&#160;(no processed foods, high-sugar foods, or supplements).</p>
<p>Pros: Fat Loss 4 Idiots is a very simple plan for darn near any person.&#160; The &#8216;cheap&#8217; nature means that you do not have to spend crazy for a weight loss program.&#160; Secondly, the diet plan keeps your metabolism from working against you and allows to easily craft a complex meal plan.&#160; Third, the program is highly popular and would presume then, to be a successful program.</p>
<p>Cons: Fat Loss 4 Idiots is so simply though, it may start to get boring to follow.&#160; There is a lot of repetition in the meal plan which in these busy days,&#160;should be okay with most.</p>

<p>Fashion models depend on their slim figures for their livelihood, so it&#8217;s imperative that they always look good. I&#8217;m not an advocate of the size zero,<span id="more-39"></span> but I&#8217;m sure you&#8217;ll find it interesting to know what sort of diet a fashion model would choose.</p>
<p>The Fashion Models Diet Plan</p>
<p>A favourite way for models to look good is to &#8220;Cleanse&#8221; or &#8220;Fast&#8221;. This is not a complete starvation diet, as it will include the intake of soups and fruit juices over a 3 to7 day period. It is more of a detox routine and is gernerally only carried out once or twice a year.</p>
<p>The benefits of this detox is to obviously rid the body of harmful toxins, such as preservatives and food additives together with inhaled smoke and fumes. It also gives the colon a chance to rid the digestive system of any fecal build up. The results can be dramatic as the liver and kidneys are able to repair and replace damaged cells instead of continuing to rid the body of toxins.</p>
<p>A typical &#8220;Cleanse&#8221; diet might consist of a combination of fresh carrots, celery, beet, spinach, apple, coconut, broth and juices. Citrus and tomato juices are too acidic to drink while fasting so these should be avoided. It&#8217;s important to drink plenty of water  during the detox and avoid consuming any unnecessary medications or supplements. </p>

Many people are confused about how low carb diets work. It doesn&#8217;t make sense to them that you can eat more fat and protein than is traditionally called for and still lose weight. </p>
<p>A low carb diet plan greatly restricts the amount of carbohydrates you consume, as compared with a traditional North American diet, or even compared with a low fat diet. While our bodies<span id="more-37"></span> would usually burn stored carbohydrates for energy, low carb eating forces the body to burn more stored fat instead. When this happens, your body produces chemicals called &#8220;ketones&#8221;. Ketones result when your kidneys convert fat to soluble waste. Getting your body to reach this point is one of the goals of a low carbohydrate diet.</p>
<p>There is a scientific reason behind the development of this diet. Dr. Robert Atkins first introduced the concept of eating a low carbohydrate diet in the 1970s. He noticed that primitive people consumed a diet of mostly meat, vegetables and some fruit. Because this diet was in existence for thousands of years before the development of agriculture, Atkins concluded that the reason most people had difficulty losing weight and keeping it off is that we are eating contrary to the way our digestive system is set up. In other words, our bodies do not support eating wheat, barley and other grains and sugars. </p>
<p>In the 1990s the diet seemed to be rediscovered and became known as the Atkins New Diet Revolution. Since the reemergence of the Atkins diet, other low carb diets have been developed that are variations of it. The Zone Diet, the Stillman Diet, the Hollywood Diet, the Ketogenic Diet and the South Beach Diet are all based on the idea of eating fewer carbohydrates. They all advise eating more protein and limited carbs and inducing the body to burn its own fat. </p>
<p>Low carb diet plans differ somewhat in the amount of carbohydrates they allow, but all advise cutting out all white or starchy foods. The most strict is the 20 gram per day carb limit of the initial stage of Atkins, plus some of the other diet plans. The 20 grams is generally derived from salads and non-starchy vegetables, plus the trace amounts of carbs in sauces, dressings and cheeses. </p>
<p>In the first stages of a low carbohydrate diet, dieters are not allowed to have any milk, fruits, grains, cereals, pasta, breads or &#8220;high glycemic index&#8221; vegetables such as potatoes, peas, corn and carrots. The missing carbs are replaced with ample amounts of protein. </p>
<p>This is a very low amount of carbohydrate when compared with the large amounts of pasta and grains advised by traditional low fat diet recommendations, so this diet has become quite controversial. Butter is also included, which is another reason for the controversy over low carbohydrate eating plans. The butter is recommended because fat slows down the absorption of carbohydrates into the body and helps to maintain an even blood sugar level. </p>
<p>The whole idea behind Dr. Atkins original principal is that it we gain weight in our Western world because our blood sugar levels are allowed to go too high by eating too much high starch food. Control the carbohydrate levels and you control weight much more easily. Much research has shown this to be true. Of course opposing research has been done too, so the controversy continues to some extent, although it is generally acknowledged by all now that the high carb recommendations of the past were incorrect. </p>
<p>The great difficulty of any severely restricted diet is that most people can end up regaining much of their lost weight because of difficulty adhering to the restrictions over the long-term. This can ultimately result in rebound weight gain and is the reason that the modified versions of Atkins diet have evolved. </p>
<p>The Atkins diet itself though, does gradually increase the amount of carbohydrates you consume as you complete your weight loss, to avoid the extremes of losing then regaining weight. Is it right for you?</p>

<p>It is true that you could decide on some kind of extravagant diet and expensive gym membership but you really could save yourself a great amount of money by just keeping it simple.<br /><span id="more-36"></span><br />

Let&#8217;s start with the diet and this can be a great start for your new year diet and fitness plan. Just by eating 3 regular meals per day and not eating sweet snacks etc in between meals can make all of the difference. </p>
<p>Also, incorporate fruit in your daily diet and try and drink two litres of water per day. Just by starting to take action with your diet in this way will have an absolutely massive effect on your well being.</p>
<p>As for the keeping fit part of your new year diet and fitness plan I would advise getting yourself a mini trampoline. This is an absolutely brilliant way of keeping fit and the best part is that you can bounce away when ever you have a few spare minutes and also whilst you are watching television. </p>
<p>It is a well known fact that trampolining exercises many different parts of your body and by doing it on a regular basis your fitness levels will soar.</p>
<p>Couple this with your sensible diet plan and you will find that the new year will find you feeling better than you have done in a long time.</p>
